About

The European Hockey.Net project

The European Hockey.Net's aim is to bring the whole of European ice hockey together on one site. We aim for more exposure of the national leagues, with information in English which is accepted as the international internet language. Later we hope to expand to a multi-lingual site.

EH.N is currently staffed by around 50 volunteers from all over the old continent and around the world. Obtaining information from local staff is the key to the whole operation. Later we will have over 100. Site visits currently (January 2002) range around 1000-1800 per day, an excellent figure as we start our 4th year! Page views are currently over the 500,000 per month mark.

The year of 2002 will see us working on improving the site further on our new, dedicated server which went online in the autumn of 2001.

We aim to expand further. Box scores of games, a players statistics database updated by game sheet input, a multilingual dictionary of hockey terms used at the games and on the web, we have set no limit to the possibilities of the site. The language barrier which prevents a hockey fan from one country from finding out about hockey in the other country is now gone. The vast majority of people these days learn English at school and any unknown terms will be found in the dictionary. The new server will increase the accessibility of the site, currently residing on a server which, although excellent in its capabilities, is occasionally overloaded.

Look at the Welcome page on your national section (accessible from the Countries section) for details of how EH.N can help your website.
