Well another thing that might have made the hit he took worse than anticipated according to our announcers here in the US, is the boards in Internation Hockey are much higher than those here in North America for NHL hockey. They say that and his helmet wasn't approved (I'm not sure if that meant not NHL approved?) lead to the hit Jagr took causing him some injuries. I hope Jagr is OK, but I still didn't see where the game misconduct came in? But that is up to the refs and how the feel they need to hand out penalties. And I still don't feel anything was done intentionlly to take out a player.
Professional Sports Players get hurt or injured all the time. They know and accept these risks for playing a sport they love. It is all just part of the game, if not done intentionally.
