the argument for a salary cap is that the sport can't support the wage demands of the ' big names ', there simply isn't enough money. if the superstars get their way, ten years from now, at the end of our 40 hour working week, we'll be tuning in to womens major league soccer instead of our beloved nhl because the league has folded. at least shanahan, modano, lidstrom & co. will be comfortable sipping bubbly on the balcony of their holiday homes overlooking their private beach with their luxury yachts moored just in the distance. Look at the selfish attitude of these 'lovers' of hockey in europe where there is at least 250 players out of work to make way for them. players who rely on playing hockey to make a living. at least the scabs are getting to stay in shape while they wait for the league to restart. what happens to this years rookies next season when next years rookies are also fighting for a spot? they'll have lost a years development. GO BACK TO WORK AND STOP BEING GREEDY
