just like I said there are individuals who are of course overvalued, but this is a problem of the teams too... why in hell this they agree to pay them such high salaries (to the individuals)? a salary cap? introduce it and many players won't ever return to NHL simply coz they could in end earn more in Europe (Russia / Sweden) . ..
Have you actually read what the NHLPA proposed? 40% decrease in salaries if I remember, that's almost 1/2 of what the players were earning... What else do you want? If you want salary caps go ahead and play your NHL with local youngsetrs and uni-players...
look, europeans haven't played the NHL for the fans there.. I doulbt they care about the common american fan who chews burgers and ketchup... (sorry to the exceptions) ... They clearly went to the NHL because they 1. EARNED MORE MONEY THAN IN EUROPE... don't tell me that they went there for the fact that NHL has the best players... I mean just look at most of the NHLers in Europe! Many of them are equaled or even outplayed by non-NHL origins...
you want NHL? give the players a motivation!
I personally am enjoying the NHL lockout for a fact that I get to see better hockey in Europe nowadays...
