I'm not trying to take anything personally. If he looks like a finn fine, but the fact of the matter is he has had no outside training, all canadian, his skill his talent, his teaching has all been entirely canadian. What i did take personally was that you assumed that what he had learned could not be taught in canada. We have the coaches and trainers that can teach skill and help a player develop as he has. As for our league structures, I know that when we revamped our system we took some of our cues from europe but i know that not that much influence has come from europe at our lower development levels, maybe in admin, as i know a number of high profile people to. Our game is changing because we find the european speed and skill exciting so we have changed our rules to showcase our players that have it. The reason that you don't think he looks like a canadian is that for many years the rules were different and different players excelled. now with the new rules we can showcase players that were not typically what you would expect. The other thing that canada is known for is its grit and heart, and no matter what players we put on the ice they will have that because we believe hockey is ours and it is in every canadians heart
