But that only works if they have ONLY got Irish citizenship. The majority don't. They have got dual citizenship.
If you have "multiple citizenships", then you must have played 2 consecutive seasons in the country of your choice. Considering Ireland doesn't have a league, that can't happen.
And besides, why would a country that only has 1 ice rink spend several thousands of Euros getting an Irish team to the Olympics? What would it gain from it?
