Seemed like the Canadians couldn't be bothered, and they deservedly took a trashing. I bet that if asked, they'd admit that they would rather not have played the (loser) bronze medal game at all. I think this is a common attitude in North America, where only the gold counts. Personally, I think that winning a medal after a disappointing semi-final is a good way to end the tournament on a high note. The players should be obliged to give it their best shot, for the fans if nothing else. Furthermore, for those who think the bronze game should be dropped altogether, imho the bronze provides weaker nations without realistic chances of reaching final something to aim at. I bet that Byelorussia for example would've been more than happy to win the less precious medal.
