European Teams, Try-outs, and Skill Level

I am a North American ice hockey player out of New York, USA, currently in school graduating with a Master's degree in psychology. However I would still like to continue my hockey career, whether in the USA or Europe. If any information in try-outs, or the way teams conduct themselves in potentially aquiring a player from the USA is appreciated.
