The Rinkelinmäki Ice Hall was completed in 1979, first it had a capacity of 4000 people, 1000 sitting and 3000 standing places. Right next of the ice hall along the road was until last year army baracks. The ice hall was expanded in 1996, to obligatory 5000 place arena. It is not the smallest arena in the SM-Liiga, had been untill the expansion in which were built in five months April-September 1996. The legendary night of the Ice Hall was march 26 1993, when Marko Palo shot the Overtime goal for the HPK, and the team reached the SM-liiga finals only time on it's league history.

The Ice hall is located 3 kilometers from city centre, and 1,5 kilometers from The Ahvenisto motor stadium.
