French LeaguesFrench Cup InfoFrench Cup is a competition played on a play-off mode. The 7 teams of Division Elite, the 14 teams of Division 1 and 4 teams of Division 2 (the 4 best ones according the previous season rankings) are playing this competition. Match ups are sorted randomly (based on geography for the first two rounds) and the winner of each game advance to the next round. Only the Division 1 and Division 2 are taking part to the first round. The 9 winners advance to the next round in which participate the 7 Elite teams. The 8 winners advance to the quarter finals. The 4 winners advance to the semi-final and the 2 winners advance to the final played, as the previous rounds, in one game. When teams from different divisions meet in a match up, the team coming from the lower division plays at home.When teams are playing in the same division, the team sorted first during the draw plays at home.
