French LeaguesLigue Magnus InfoThe Ligue Magnus is the top French league and consists of 14 teams. All teams play each other once at home and away (qualifying round). The total number of games per team is 13+13=26. After this regular season, teams ranked fifth to twelfth play a preliminary play-off round (5th vs.12th, 6th vs.11th, 7th vs.10th and 8th vs. 9th) in a best-of-three format. The four winners advance to the quarter final round where they meet the teams ranked first to fourth in the regular season. Quarter finals, semi finals and final are played in best-of-five series. The winner of the final series wins the French Championship title. Teams ranked 13th and 14th after the regular season meet each other in a play-out round. The loser is relegated to Division 1 at the end of the season. The winner plays a match-up against the team ranked second in Division 1 in a best of two format for a spot in Ligue Magnus next season.
