Larsson named Elitserien Rookie of the year

Djurgården’s goalkeeper Daniel Larsson wins prestigious Swedish award.

Daniel Larsson played 46 of the 55 regular season games for Djurgården of Stockholm. During those games he allowed an average of 2.29 goals per game and saved 1209 out of 1313 shots for a percentage of .921.

This performance won the 22-years old netminder the Swedish Rookie of the year award.

The other players nominated for the Rookie award were Jhonas Enroth (Södertälje), Fabian Brunnström (Färjestad) and Linus Klasen (Södertälje).

Larsson also won Honken Trophy this season. Honken Trophy is an award named by the 1969 World Championship best goalie Leif “Honken” Holmqvist given to the best Swedish goalkeeper of Elitserien.
