Close call when USA beats the Czechs

USA keeps perfect record by beating the Czech Republic in an evenly matched game

When Jordan Schroeder scored his second goal of the game to give USA the lead 4-1 most of the 19,847 in the stands thought the game was over. But the Czechs didn't gave up. Goals from Paryzek and Kana put them only goal behind but despite pulling the goalie at the end the Czechs didn't manage to get an equalizer and lost their second straight game.

The first period was evenly matched with several scoring chances for both teams but the only goal was scored by Schroeder. Ondrej Roman tied the game in the second period but the Americans took over the momentum and could go to the second intermission with a two goal lead.

Despite the Czech effort in the third period the USA won 4-3 and still have a perfect record in this year's WJC. For the Czechs a very important game waits on Thursday. If they can't beat the Germans they'll be forced to play in the relegation round instead of the quarter finals.
