Three goals by Filatov when Russia wins again

Russia and Sweden will play for group win on new years eve.

After beating Slovakia 8-1 Russia is now 3-0 at the World Juniors. The Russians showed good scoring efficiency scoring 8 goals on 31 shots while the Slovaks only managed to scored once on 27 attempts.

Nikita Filatov gave Russia the lead already after 2:12 but Slovakia came back and tied the game with a goal from Adam Bezak. Russia retook the lead with an important power play goal by Goncharov.

At the start of the second period the Russians exploded and four goals in eight minutes killed the game. Filatov scored two of them and had three goals and one assist in the game.

For Russia a group final against Sweden now awaits, the winner there will qualify directly for the semi finals. Slovakia will play Finland in their last game of the group stage. The winner will play in the quarter finals, the loser will play in the relegation round.
