First win for Finland
Latvia will head into the relegation round without any points
Finland's dreams of a medal is alive after 5-1 against Latvia. Finland dominated the game and outshot Latvia 56-18.
Finland scorded two unanswered goals in the first period. Antti Roppo also missed a penalty shot for the Finnish lions. In the second period young Mikael Granlund, born 1992, added his first two WJC goals to make it 4-0 before Roppo took revenge for his penalty shot miss and made it 5-0. Roberts Jekimovs scored a consulation goal for Latvia on 5-on-3 powerplay.
Finland will now play an all decisive game against Slovakia for a quarter final spot while Latvia will head into the relegation round with zero points.
