Three teams score double digits on day 5 of WJC18
Canada needs overtime to beat the Czechs. Sweden, Finland and USA all win big.
In the first game of day 5 Sweden outclassed Switzerland and won 11-0. William Wallén made his first game after joining the team after finishing the OHL season and scored four points (1+3), best scorer of the game was Sweden's super talent Magnus Svensson Pääjärvi who had 2 goals and 3 assists.

The Czechs were very close to a surprise in the game against Canada. After two period the Czechs had the lead 3-0 but Canada made a strong comeback and tied the game and won in overtime. The Czechs had actually never lost to Canada at the U18 WC before this game and it looked like the streak would stay alive. After two periods the Czechs had 29-24 in shots on goal, in the third period Canada exploded and tied the game in five minutes. Canada outshot the Czechs 23-4 in last 20 minutes and had many chances to win the game in regular time. Canada will now play Sweden for the group final and a bye into the semi finals.

The Finnish first line had a nice game when Finland defeated Norway 10-1. Mikael Granlund, Teemu Pulkkinen and Toni Rajala scored seven goals with Rajala scoring seven points (3+4) and Granlund and Pulkkinen six points each.

The US team pleased the home crowd by scoring twelve goals against Slovakia. Jack Campbell made 18 saves to get the shutout in this game where nine different players scored. Lynch, Ryan and Henrion scored two goals each. USA will finish the first round against Russia while Slovakia still have a small chance of avoiding the relegation round if they can beat Finland.
