USA Under 18 World Champions
Blanks Russia in the final, Finland grabs the bronze medals.
There was no question about it when Team USA won their third U18 gold in five years. USA blanked Russia and won 5-0 in a game when they outshot the Russians 43-17. The Americans took control from the start when Cam Fowler found the net on a power play already at 2:09. Nieto made it 2-0 before Wrenn made it 3-0 in the second period. And 3:39 into the third period the game was already over as the US were up 5-0.

The bronze medal game was more even and was decided after a penalty shoot out. Finland outshot Canada 57-33 in this game but was still down 1-4 after 35 minutes. But the Finns lead by Toni Rajala came back and tied the game. Rajala scored both 4-2 and 4-4 and also scored the game winning goal in the shoot out.
