Edit Fixtures

Before you add a fixture you have to make sure the competition already exists in the database. To do this, go to Edit Competitions.

If you have a large league schedule, don't enter it all one-by-one in the script. Get all the details we require into an Excel 97 file and send it to schedules@eurohockey.net (ask us first if we have it already so we don't receive it 50 times!)

Screen 1:

To list the fixtures currently in the database, enter some of the details into the form - dates to and from, competition (use the ID not the display name), or a team (use the team name exactly as displayed on the site). If you know the game isn't yet listed you can jump from here to Screen 3.

Screen 2:

Games are listed in basic format, hit the edit button to move to the edit screen (Screen 3). You can also enter a new fixture by hitting the New button.

Screen 3:

Date
Competition
Face-off time (PLEASE enter if known!)

Screen 4:

Home Team / Away Team
Either:
[1] select a team from the dropdown menu (for anything other than Challenge, just the teams chosen for the Competition are listed) or
[2] enter a team not listed on the site, or details of who plays (such as 'winner of Team A/Team B') for the final stages of a competition.

Home Score / Away Score (if game has been played)
Enter the score.

Overtime (if game has been played)
Click here if the game went into overtime.

Penalties (if game has been played)
Click here if the game was decided on penalty shots.

Venue
LEAVE BLANK if the venue is the standard venue for the team listed at Home Team
Enter the venue as near as possible to that listed elsewhere on the site if it is at a different venue. Regarding tournaments played at one venue belonging to one of the competing teams: Always list the host team as home, despite what the fixtures say (usually the home team has to play a game or two as 'away' team regarding line-changing and dress rights).

Neutral Venue
IMPORTANT! CLICK THIS if the game was played at a neutral venue. This way in the individual team schedules it's shown as an away game for both teams and the exact venue is listed instead of 'home/away'.

Adding Results

Use the same procedure as above, just adding the scores in the correct boxes and checking OT and Penalties if appropriate.

WEBMASTERS! You will be able to display the standings of your choice using OUR database but using a style sheet placed on your server. So if you want your team's schedule to be on a luminous orange background with the other teams in bright purple and your own in a sickly green, you can do it! Ask us for more info before you worry about writing a script to generate your own tables next season! You can choose which columns to display and in which order, and add your own text to the top and bottom of the page. Rather like one of those guestbooks you can pick up from the net.
