1) Click on Edit News from your Staff menu
2) If you have a new news item to add, go to Add New Item and click on
New
3) Fill in the boxes with the following:
a) Headline - a one-liner drawing attention to the report
b) Teaser - the first paragraph of the report which draws attention to
the rest
c) Story - the remainder of the story text, which can include simple
HTML coding such as links, bold/italics, etc. Please do NOT
use <p> paragraph breaks. A new line in the box is a new
line on the screen, so <br> and <p> are unnecessary.
Any other attempt at HTML code should only be done by experienced HTML
coders
and after consultation with Carl or Mike.
We ENCOURAGE links to players' and teams' pages.
d) Source - The name of the site or publication where the
report came from
e) Countries - The NIC codes of the countries involved in
the report. Usually just one, but additional countries can
be added. For example if a French player joins a German
team, you can enter fr,de
f) Leagues - Same rule here as for Countries. Use the
same abbreviation as the league uses in the schedule
database, for example, the ISL is uk-isl, the DEL is de-del,
the Swedish Elitserien is se-elit, and so on
g) Link URL - (Without the http://) - Enter the URL of the
site which supplied the report
4) Click on Save
5) Check that your report shows up both on the News index and on the
country pages.
6) Approach an English-speaking member of staff for any corrections or
problems with translation.
